Skyrooms, South Wales, UK

A Skyroom cleverly bridges the gap between a conservatory and a high end orangery.. The Skyroom combines slim design technology with visible elegance, outstanding strength and industry leading thermal performance. Through engineering excellence & intelligent detailing, the Skyroom is one of the finest contemporary looking products available on the market.

Much like a traditionally built orangery, the Skyroom’s industry leading design has the appearance of a real lantern roof set within a solid roof. This illusion is created using a ‘raised ringbeam’ between the top of the internal pelmet and the roof.

Why Choose a Skyroom?

Flood Your Home with Light…

As standard, the Skyrooms roof glass will be specified to combine heat reflection and thermal insulation, utilising Low-E softcoats and Solar control combination coating, with warm edge spacers and argon gas filled cavity.

The intelligent glass reflects over 60% of the sun’s solar energy, preventing Skyrooms from becoming unbearably hot in summer. Solar glare is reduced too, creating a beautifully ambient environment.

The self-cleaning technology uses both rain and UV light from the sun to efficiently combat dirt and grime that accumulates on the outside of the window.

With the Skyrooms signature 70% slimmer ridge and 30% slimmer rafter, the Skyroom blends design aesthetics, outstanding strength and unrivalled thermal performance

Supreme Thermal Performance

The goal is to let visible light in, whilst keeping solar heat out in the summer and radiant heat in during the winter. Independent tests show that the SkyRoom frame is the most thermally efficient in the UK domestic market.

A U-Value is the measure of heat loss from a building structure. A high U-Value means thermal insulation is poor whilst a low U Value indicates a good thermal insulation.

The Skyroom roof rafter has a U Value of 1.5 which is twice as thermally efficient as its nearest competitor.

With energy bills rising, thermal efficiency & performance remains number one priority when making home improvements.

FAQ’s

Which type of glass is used on the Atlas SkyRoom?

As standard, Atlas roof glass will be specified to combine heat reflection and thermal insulation utilising Low-E softcoats and Solar control combination coating, with warm edge spacers and argon gas filled cavity. This specification controls the amount of visible light, UV and heat that passes through the glazed unit. Destructive UV rays are reduced by up to 91% with the correct glass specification, thus reducing fading of furniture and fabrics from sun damage. With self-cleaning technology as standard, our glass will require less maintenance.

What Is The Unique Feature Of An Atlas SkyRoom?

Unlike any other roof, the Skyroom has no unsightly rod tie bars or low supports cluttering the roof. The supports guarantee excellent headroom and no intrusion into the room – even in large rooms. This, combined with the technology eliminating the need for boss or hoods overpowering the ridge, really does give MORE SKY LESS ROOF™.

Are SkyRooms Energy Efficient?

Yes, SkyRooms are energy efficient. Independent testing by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) verifies that the Atlas roof rafter is the most thermally efficient available in the UK domestic conservatory market. The Atlas roof rafter has a U Value of 1.5 W/m²K which is twice as thermally efficient as its nearest competitor. The rafter is available with double glazing which has a U Value of 0.9 W/m²K. When triple glazed, the roof rafter achieves an impressive U value of 0.95 W/m²K and 0.6 W/m²K glass U Value.
